Course FAQs
The PRINCE2® Agile Foundation qualification is intended for anyone involved in projects looking to introduce agile concepts and techniques, as well as for those working in non-project environments looking to adopt agile ways of working. It is also relevant to project management personnel, agile practitioners, project management office members, and other project-related roles, such as business analysts and change managers.
The PRINCE2 Agile Foundation examination is intended to assess whether a candidate can recall and understand the PRINCE2 Agile concepts, frameworks, and techniques (as described in the syllabus below). The PRINCE2 Agile Foundation qualification is a prerequisite for the PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner exam, which assesses the ability to apply understanding of the PRINCE2 Agile concepts, frameworks, and techniques. The exam is 60 minutes, multiple choice, and closed book. Pass mark is 60%.
Yes! Project management, at its best, is a facilitator and enabler of your chosen delivery approach. It should not limit or disable your solution. PRINCE2 Agile is about tailoring PRINCE2 to enable agile working to succeed in a project environment. It does not limit agile, nor does it suggest that your agile solution needs to change. PRINCE2 Agile adds the benefits of excellent governance without losing the benefits of outstanding delivery.
No! PRINCE2 has a long and very successful history of enabling waterfall-based solutions and approaches. However, it is not itself a waterfall, nor is it limited in any way to waterfall working. PRINCE2 can support any delivery approach. PRINCE2 Agile describes it as doing that for agile working.
The most successful agile frameworks describe small delivery teams working collaboratively and delivering little and often. They are discovery-based and adaptive. They favor customers represented by a single individual (product owner) and business value being the driver for work selected and delivered. On a small scale, they are all you need to succeed.
However, as the scale grows… multiple customers, multiple teams, more effective products and broader goals and objectives… they do not offer any way of managing these challenges. This is the environment that PRINCE2 was built for. A way of working that decides what projects to do, sets up the environment for success, regularly checks that a business justification for the work exists and continues, escalates significant issues, reports progress to senior management and coordinates multiple teams working.
Bring both together with a strong emphasis on “protecting the delivery approach from anything that will make it less effective or efficient.” You can have the best of both worlds… Demonstrable governance and effective delivery.
You will be provided with an exam voucher for the exam and a link to register and schedule your online exam session with the PeopleCert web proctoring service. You will take your exam after you have completed your training course.
Learning Tree will set up the Take2 option for all attendees for publicly scheduled course events when we order your exam voucher. If you aren’t successful on your first exam, you will be notified by PeopleCert that you are eligible to register for the exam retake. Unfortunately, those who attended a course event before April 1 and attendees of private or closed training events are not eligible for this benefit unless this has been pre-agreed.
Though exam vouchers can cost hundreds, there is no additional cost to you to sign up for the Take2 re-sit program. Take2 is an additional complimentary benefit offered to you by Learning Tree.
PeopleCert CPDs are the continuing education credits that help you maintain PeopleCert certifications in PRINCE2, ITIL and DevOps Institute.
Maintaining PeopleCert Certifications
All PeopleCert Business and IT certifications (including PRINCE2, ITIL and DOI) must be renewed within three years of their original certification date. There are two ways to keep certifications current:
- Join PeopleCert Plus (a paid membership) to earn 20 CPDs per year for 3 years and renew certifications that way.
- Earn another certification from the same Product Suite (for example, to renew all ITIL certifications you can earn a new ITIL certification)
Eligible Learning Tree Training
Learning Tree training is not eligible for the PeopleCert Plus CPD program. Attendees can renew their PeopleCert certifications with Learning Tree by enrolling in another certification from the product suite they're trying to renew. Examples:
- If you hold an ITIL 4 Foundation certification, and you acquire an ITIL 4 Practitioner or ITIL 4 Specialist certification, all your certification(s) belonging to the ITIL 4 Product Suite will be renewed.
- Similarly, if you hold a PRINCE2 Practitioner certification and you acquire an MSP Foundation, all your certification(s) belonging to the PRINCE2 Project, Programme & Portfolio Management Suite will be renewed.
Learn more about eligibility and CPDs on the PeopleCert website: Keep your certifications current| (peoplecert.org)
Attendee Process for Renewing PeopleCert Certifications with Learning Tree
Once an attendee successfully earns a PeopleCert certification from the same product suite they're trying to renew, their other certifications in that product suite will automatically renew.
